cover-01-2008--sm.jpgIt’s a new year, which means it is a time of change and new beginnings for many people. They resolve* to improve their lives, to make important decisions, to take risks* that they didn’t take in the previous year. In this issue of the Zoni Voice, students tell us what they plan to do in the coming months. In addition, Zoni President & CEO Zoilo Nieto debates the pros and cons of making such annual promises.

The new year is also a time of reflection on the past. We look at the twelve months behind us and try to learn from our challenges, mistakes and experiences. Inside this issue, students tell us their best stories from 2007: the scariest, the happiest and the most exciting moments of their year.

The purpose of resolutions and reflections is ultimately* to make us happier and more successful in our lives: to change us for the better. We send out our best wishes for 2008 to everyone at Zoni and to all Zoni’s partners and friends around the world!

The Zoni Voice is a newspaper written, designed and produced by students, faculty and staff for students, faculty and staff. It's a place to voice our opinions and share our cultures-using English.

Our goal is to foster communication and cultural understanding among our diverse Zoni community through English. To achieve this, we minimally edit student writing to maintain students' original voices and to provide examples for ESL classroom correction.
